Step 3: FAMILY STORIES = METADATA
Family stories will be uncovered in the process of sorting out the photo chaos and it’s up to you how deep you want to dive into preserving your family legacy with added captions and metadata (information about each photo: i.e. dates, places, names of people etc). Your project is customized to you.
Step 4: PRESERVE BY SCANNING
Because you have a high volume of historical print photos and other media, your photo organization project typically focuses on scanning your collection and converting your physical photo assets into digital files. A big portion of your project budget is dedicated to scanning costs just due to the volume of materials involved.
Step 5: STORE ORIGINAL PRINTS
You decide if you want to save your original prints after scanning and how you want them stored, archived or documented. Archival storage boxes are available.
Step 6: DIGITAL PHOTO ARCHIVE
Once your photos, negatives, slides or outdated media is in digital format, we create a Family Photo Hub on your computer where your new digital photos will reside. Your end result is an external hard drive that fits in the palm of your hand or a USB key with your entire family photo collection that is backed-up using a 3-2-1 photo back-up strategy to safeguard your memories.
Step 7: SHARE PHOTOS IN THE CLOUD
You are now ready to share your photos with family around the world with an online digital archive where family can view and download the photos they want. The sharing of memories today and knowing your photos are backed up and safe for tomorrow is the best part.
